Release Date: July 12, 2017
Cover Price: $3.99

The Titans series might be one of, if not the, best series in the Rebirth line up. It has relatable characters, epic action, FANTASTIC art etc. I never thought I missed a team up like this, yet it's always near the top of my must have comic list. The only negative I have had with the series was during the Lazarus Contract and it really pertained to their teen counterparts.

In the wake of the Lazarus Contract, the heart of the Titans has been shaken. Wally West, The Flash, has had his heart damaged in the past, meaning if he runs too fast, his heart could fail him. In that vulnerable state, love has blossomed amongst the team. Wally and Donna find each other, breaking Roy's heart, while Lillith grew close to Garth. Lillith also learned that one of the Titans will betray the team. Who will it be? Let's find out how the team handles this revelation!

*WARNING! SOME SPOILERS BELOW!*

This issue is a giant action scene, but that doesn't mean there aren't any emotional moments to be held.

The Titans launch a full assault on the H.I.V.E. Headquarters at Alton Labs in an attempt to find Karen Duncan's lost memories after their initial adventures in Manhattan. When they are confronted by a scientist named Mr. Binder, who could upload any superpower H.I.V.E. has on their databases. During the fight, we watch the Titan couples worry about each other, and as expected, it throws off the team dynamic. The prime example is the heavy hitter of Garth leaving the battle to get Lillith to safety. While it's nice to see him actually care, last I checked he was an Atlantean unrelenting warrior. Out of all of the Titans, he should have been the least likely! But the heart wants what it wants.

We watch them do their best to fight the scientist, but really the only one who seemed to be making any sort of impact is The Flash, who gets a new power in a strange way. After Wally races to stop Binder's attack on Bumblebee, his heart begins to beat erratically, causing all of time to stop around him. This is a cool side effect Post-Lazarus Contract, giving a silver lining amongst the darkness. The only problem is that it doesn't make much sense. Why would the erratic heartbeat stop time rather than, you know, KILL HIM as everyone has described? There will probably be some sort of explanation, but right now, this new power is contradicting the condition Wally has been given.

After Wally uses his new time-stopping power to defeat Binder, Nightwing goes through the computer to try and find Bumblebee's memories but learns that they had been moved before they arrived, confirming that someone had ratted them out to H.I.V.E. Nightwing questions LILLITH why she betrayed the Titans, to which I have to question 'WHAT?!' This is the woman who brought them all together and without ANY PROOF Nightwing blames her? SHE WAS THE FIRST TO KNOW SOMEONE WAS GOING TO BETRAY THEM! This instant blaming without proof makes Nightwing look like Batman in the worse way possible. This makes me feel that Nightwing is the traitor, which doesn't make sense either. Now, this makes my mind trying to piece together who is the traitor and why, but sadly we must wait till next month to continue the story.

Overall, while not the best issue of the series, I still found enjoyment in this issue. Thanks to the emotional side of things, it feels like a set-up for things to come. The action and art are on point, and I can't wait to see how this all plays out.
